These are challenging times for democracy in the United States and around the world. And like you, we spend countless hours doomscrolling media sites and the blogosphere trying to keep up with, and make sense of, everything that is happening.
It can be a daunting and overwhelming chore.
We are both blessed and cursed with an endless stream of information from countless sources of varying quality and veracity. It’s challenging, and frankly exhausting, trying to decide which sources to follow and what to read, watch, or listen to.
At the end of the day, we all want to be informed, but we also want to have the breathing space to live our lives.
And that’s why we created Threshing Pigeon. We spend our days doomscrolling so you don’t.

Threshing Pigeon delivers curated content from pro-democracy thought leaders. These are individuals and organizations with the background and experience to provide you (and us) with informed analyses and opinions.
We include viewpoints from across the political spectrum, from center-right to center-left. The key criteria is a commitment to integrity and democracy above all else.
We often emphasize independent sources publishing on the many digital platforms available today. Of course we don’t avoid major media outlets, but many of today’s pro-democracy thought leaders are independents and nonprofits.

Our Name
Threshing is the process of removing the edible part of grain from straw without removing the bran, which is somewhat analogous to the process of curating content. Pigeon comes from the pigeon post, which was historically used for communication in times of uncertainty.
Yeah, it’s a bit of a stretch.
