In February, POLITICO reported that eight nonprofit groups who received awards from a $20 billion climate grant had their accounts frozen at Citibank. The freeze is part of Trump's effort to claw back money from Biden-era climate and clean energy funds, including those legally contracted and placed in bank accounts.

EPA administrator Lee Zeldin has maligned these funds as "shoveling boat loads of cash to far-left activist groups."

Today The New Republic reports that the FBI is targeting groups that received these grants, alleging "possible criminal violations" including "conspiracy to defraud the United States." This includes groups such as Habitat for Humanity, Appalachian Community Capital, and Coalition for Green Capital.

In another blow to environment protection, Eos reports on Zeldin's order to shutter the 10 regional EPA offices focused on environmental justice. These offices worked with low-income and minority communities disproportionately burdened by pollution.

Is the takeaway that nothing is more un-American than justice?
